Recent Changes & Security Updates

Over the past few months, Piksor has introduced a number of changes and security improvements. We would like to summarize the most important updates below:

1. Stricter Upload Restrictions

Piksor has implemented stricter restrictions on user uploads. Unregistered users can no longer upload images.

Existing registered users can continue using the site with or without a VPN. However, newly registered users can only publish content without using a VPN.

These restrictions were introduced because we have blocked a significant number of abusive users who continued attempting to upload content by creating new accounts and using VPNs to bypass previous restrictions.

We would rather have fewer users than maintain a large number of users who repeatedly abuse the platform.

Please note: Our VPN detection system may occasionally incorrectly identify a legitimate, non-VPN IP address as a VPN or proxy IP. If you believe your IP has been incorrectly detected, please visit WhatIsMyIPAddress, copy your current public IP address, and send it to us so we can review it and whitelist the IP if appropriate.

2. Improved Image Security

Image security has been upgraded.

Room administrators can no longer download an entire room if that room has watermark protection enabled.

Administrators can only download an entire room when watermark protection is disabled.

3. Session Hashes in Comments Are No Longer Allowed

The posting of session hashes in comments has been restricted after we found that these hashes were frequently being used to direct users toward groups involving minors.

From now on, any registered account that posts or distributes these hashes in Piksor comments will be permanently suspended without warning.

Attempts to modify or obfuscate the hashes will not prevent detection. Our monitoring systems record suspicious activity, and moderators may review and suspend accounts accordingly.

4. Watermarking Bug Fixes

Several bugs related to image watermarking have been identified and fixed.

We will continue improving the watermarking system and addressing additional issues as they are discovered.

5. Comment Monitoring & Enforcement

Piksor now has an automated comment-monitoring system that identifies and records certain keywords and patterns as suspicious.

Comments involving pedophilia, doxxing, or any other activity that violates Piksor’s rules may result in an account being suspended without prior warning.

Our goal is to maintain a safer and more controlled environment for the community. Please make sure you understand and follow Piksor’s rules when using the platform.
